Meet your teacher, Mrs. Decker:  I was born and raised in Jackson, MI.  I currently live in Union City with my husband, and dog.

Education:  I graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1999.  I then attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a bachelor’s of science in education in December 2003.  I am currently working on a Master’s from WMU in educational leadership.

  

Experience:  East Jackson Memorial Elementary, Substitute Teacher (December 2004-May 2004): After graduating I was a long-term substitute teacher at Memorial Elementary in Jackson, MI.  I taught pre K - 5th grade physical education and Title One to fourth and fifth graders.

Jonesville Middle School, 6th Grade Science Teacher (August 2004-January 2006):  My first full-time teaching position was with Jonesville Middle School teaching sixth grade science.  My teaching career got off to a great start and I really enjoyed the students and staff there.

Union City Middle School, 6th Grade Science

Teacher (January 2006-present):  I am currently the sixth grade science and health teacher at  Union City Middle School.  It is a great job and I truly enjoy coming each day and working with the wonderful students and staff.

Hobbies:  I enjoy running and completed a goal of running a marathon in October 2005.  I also enjoy working on my house and most of all spending time with family.
