Great Links!
Below is a selected list of great websites that I use very regularly. They are sorted by class topics and have been evaluated on their integrity and are a source that can be trusted to provide accurate information.
Constitution (Civics):
Electing a president. Check out the National Archives web site on the Electoral College
Also, check out the results of every presidential election since Washington at President Elect
These two websites have interactive Constitutions with great supplemental information
The Louisiana Purchase and Lewis and Clark:
The Louisiana Purchase Treaty - Found on the “Our Documents” site of the National Archives, this site provides history and the actual document that closed the greatest real estate deal in history!
Lewis and Clark: Mapping the West - Sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution, this site contains a wealth of information surrounding the Corps of Discovery.
National Geographic: Lewis and Clark - Created and designed by another of the premier sources on history and geography, this site offers an Interactive Journey Log, kept by the explorers during their trek.
Lewis and Clark - From PBS, one of the leaders in documentaries and visual learning, this site offers a variety of items to enhance your understanding of the Expedition.
Web Sites for Videocast Backgrounds:
Great Government Images: This site allows you to browse images by time and topic. All are high resolution.
AltaVista: This is a familiar site for many of you. Keep a close watch for the size of the images (you want big ones!).
Unfortunately, these are really all that is available for you. If you cannot find what you want, change your expectations. Please remember that you may make your own backgrounds using Keynote.
The Revolutionary War: 1775-1783
The American Revolution by PBS. This site provides video, audio, and summaries to keep even me busy for hours.
Biography of the Founding Fathers. This site has accurate and useful information regarding the men and women that worked and risked their lives for our independence.
This site is a chapter from an online textbook project. It provides the information your textbook might have, but is obviously digital. Click here.
