My personal favorite recipe

It’s not that I dislike cooking, it’s just the order of things in our household. My wife loves to cook. So I let her. She does such a wonderful job and is so enthusiastic about it, she placed two recipes on her portfolio. To view two of my favorite recipes (I like to eat...), view her page by clicking here.

If you’re still looking for a recipe, I’ll offer you mine. The agreement with cooking is that whomever cooks, the other cleans up. Since my wife cooks most of the time, I clean most of the time. So below is a recipe that I follow for cleaning.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups appreciation

  2. 100 percent effort

  3. 1 pinch of tediousness

  4. 1 cup care

  5. 2 gallons water (more or less to taste)

  6. 4 tbs dish soap

  7. 1 towel

  8. 1 (or 2) dishrag(s)

  9. 1 full cup elbow grease

  10. 1 can of beer (optional)

Directions:

Begin by taking the appreciation and applying it to the cook before dismissing from the table. Really spread it thick. Add the effort to clearing the table and throw in the tediousness and care, taking trips to the sink frequently.

Combine water and dish soap in the sink (note: adding soap as the water is poured in allows it to mix without stirring). Apply the dishrag to dirty dishes in a swirling, scrubbing motion (fig.1), rinse with water and place to dry on a drying rack (note: do not go too far before applying the towel to wet dishes, the rack may become overfull and spill onto the floor). Repeat this process until all dishes have been cleaned.

If there is a dishwasher is present (other than yourself), skip the soap and scrubbing steps and proceed to rinse and place directly in dishwasher (fig. 2). Add special dishwasher detergent (I prefer Cascade), close, and turn unit on (fig. 3).

Once dishes have been cleaned and put away, using dishrag, add elbow grease toward the application of rag in a swirling motion across all surface counters and the dining table. If necessary, rinse rag and repeat this process (figs. 4, 5, 6 and 7).

When complete, let stand for 24 hrs and repeat the entire process with new ingredients. Pour can of beer into a clean glass and consume to celebrate a job well done!
