The Study of Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior through scientific research. Through this definition we can associate psychology with other natural sciences because it looks for biological explanations for human behavior.

However, just as much as it is a natural science, psychology is also a social science because through it we can explore the influences of society on individual behavior and group relationships. It is for this reason that this class will be very different from any of your other classes; it will be active, engaging, useful, informative, and fun. But in order for this to occur to a successful degree, it requires a large amount of hard work on your behalf as well as mine.
