Introduction to Journalism:(9-12)

Students are taught to write in a journalistic fashion, with emphasis being placed on concise writing, on the writing of leads, and on the writing of longer articles in the inverted pyramid form.  Along with the journalistic writing, students will study elements of page design, experiment with various elements of photography, and create published pieces of work on computers, and many other tasks that are involved with creating a school newspaper.  This course will serve as a prerequisite for Yearbook.
